Silos Brewing Company is located in downtown Easley, SC – just a short drive from Greenville. At the time of this post, it is the only brewery located in Easley. Silos prides itself on supporting the local agriculture by using as many local ingredients as possible in their beers. Their main malt supplier is Carolina Malt house and all their malted barley, wheat, and oats are grown in the Carolinas.

The Location and Environment
SBC is located inside repurposed grain silos that date back to the 1940’s. The space has now been converted into a brewery and houses multiple food vendors as well. We visited the Silos on a Saturday night and it was jam packed with a line out the door. After we ordered our beer, we proceeded to go outside to the beer garden where we enjoyed a dueling piano performance on their stage while watching the first college football game of the season on their big screen TV. There was plenty of seating and shaded areas from the sun.

The Beer
SBC had numerous beverages to choose from. I enjoyed their “Green Wave” Hazy IPA and sampled “Pub Ale” English Amber beer. The Green Wave had a good balance and was not overly fruity or hoppy. I really wanted to sample their Juicy IPA, but they were sold out (maybe next time). The other drinks they offered at the time were an American Lite Lager, a Seltzer, Belgian Wit, Fruited Lager, Gose, Blonde, Marzen, Session IPA, Baltic Porter, Peach Wheat, and Ranch Water. However, it seems as if some of these offerings rotate in and out for other seasonal beers.

Final Thoughts
The beer I had at SBC was decent and the environment was hard to beat. I loved the idea of turning the old silos into a brewery and including spaces for restaurants to serve food. If you live in the Upstate of South Carolina or are just passing through, the Silos are definitely worth a stop for some good food and a cold beer. The community of Easley is fortunate to have a great spot like the Silos.
